NOT TO APPEAR IN PERSON
As of May 15, 2014 all applicants are required to be fingerprinted at the Consulate, with the following exceptions:
1.1 National Visa Requests (stay exceeding 90 days)
1.2 Children under the age of 12
1.3 Applicants for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible
1.4 Applicants who had their fingerprints taken at an Italian Consulate or Embassy within the last five years
Even if one of the above exceptions applies to you, Visa Law requires that all applicants appear in person at our Consulate.
This requirement can be waived under certain circumstances such as health reasons, distance, age, previous Schengen Visas.....To request a waiver:
1) you must fill out the following Application Form, print it and fax it to the following number: (310) 820 0727, along with a copy of all relevant documents supporting your request (for instance, medical certificate as proof of health reasons, copy of previous Schengen visas....).
2) your request will be evaluated and you will be notified of our decision
via fax. If approved, please refer to this link for instructions
on how to proceed.
